BACOOR \u2014 Immediately upon learning of the burst pipe incident in Southvale and St. Jude subdivisions in Molino, Bacoor, that caused flooding and affected residents, Mayor Strike B. Revilla directed the City Engineering Office, through City Engineer San Jose, to conduct an independent investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The investigation is intended to establish the circumstances surrounding the burst pipe, determine the extent of the damage caused by the resulting flooding, and identify any lapses or violations that may have contributed to the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, notices of meeting were sent yesterday to the concerned Maynilad executives and the Homeowners Association (HOA) President for an urgent meeting to be held today. The meeting will focus on determining the full extent of the damage and assessing the corresponding extent of liability of Maynilad, based on the findings of the independent investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The City emphasizes that accountability will be pursued where warranted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the independent investigation establishes that the incident was caused by negligence on the part of Maynilad, the City will take the appropriate regulatory action, including the revocation of its permit, and will require Maynilad to answer for the damages resulting from the incident, subject to applicable laws, regulations, and due process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Strike Revilla stressed that the City will not prejudge the findings of the investigation. However, the government will act decisively once the facts and technical findings have been established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The immediate priority remains the safety and welfare of affected residents, as well as the prompt assessment and mitigation of the damage caused by the flooding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The City likewise calls on all concerned parties to fully cooperate with the independent investigation and the urgent meeting so that the extent of the incident, the damage, and any resulting accountability can be determined swiftly and fairly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
