FORMER Cavite First District Congressman Francis Gerald ‘ Boy Blue’ Abaya formalized his mayoralty bid for his kometown Kawit as he led a full slate of candidates in filing their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the 2025 midterm elections on Monday, Oct. 7.
Businessman Gerry Ramos is Abaya’s vice-mayoral candidate under the banner “Kawit Muna Bago Sarili” (Kawit First Before Self).
The slate, carrying the vision, “Bagong Bukas Ay Atin”, includes eight aspirants for the Sangguniang Bayan.
They are — Former Barangay Captain Chris Faust; Barangay Captain Pen Gandia; Derick Bote Bautista; Lili Peregrino;
Allan Ilano; Engineer Edgar Repollo; Wee Narvaez and former Sanggunian Bayan member Medel Caimol
“Our slate represents a cross-section of experienced public servants and fresh voices committed to Kawit’s progress,” said Abaya.
Abaya said that his team’s primary advocacy focuses on two crucial aspects: Healtcare and Housing Program
“Our group is pushing for the implementation of a healthcare card system for every Kawiteño,” said Abaya.
He explained that the healthcare card system is similar to Makati City’s model.
“Private hospitals typically require P20,000 to P30,000 in down payment. The proposed healthcare card system,will provide immediate access to healthcare services without the burden of upfront payments,” BBA said.
The BBA team is advocating for the construction of a housing project within Kawit itself.
The project aims to ensure that residents can remain in their hometown and prevent forced relocation to other municipalities.
Abaya explained: “Our promise is simple yet clear — Kawit Muna Bago Sarili. We will not allow our fellow Kawiteños to be forced out of their hometown due to lack of housing, nor will we let them suffer from inadequate healthcare access due to financial constraints.” /BantayBalita News Desk
